Paying by QR and reading your payment status

With QR payments, you scan a supported merchant code, review what you will pay and approve when it looks right. Here is how a payment works and what each status means.

How a QR payment works

  1. Scan the merchant’s QR code in Dbanq.
  2. Check the merchant, amount, exchange rate and fees in the preview.
  3. Approve the payment, or leave it.

QR payments work with supported merchant schemes. Coverage depends on the QR scheme and the country, so a code that works in one place may not be supported in another.

Review before you approve

  • Is the merchant the one you are paying?
  • Does the amount match the bill?
  • Are the rate and fees what you expect?

You decide whether to complete each payment. If anything looks wrong, leave the payment and nothing is sent.

What the status means

After you approve, the payment moves through statuses. Submitted or pending does not mean completed. A payment is finished only when Dbanq shows it as completed. Until then, the amount may be reserved and not available to spend.

Check the payment status before you leave the counter.

About our guides.

Our guides explain how Dbanq works in plain language. Availability, fees and terms can change, so the details shown in the app always take precedence.
